Connor Prassas, a rising senior at Loyola Academy and WGA member, won the 47th Illinois State Junior Amateur after defeating Chip Savarie in a sudden death playoff with a par on the last playoff hole. Prassas carded a tournament total of 5-over-par 218. Not only did Prassas win ISJA he was also the medalist at his qualifier at Broken Arrow at the beginning of June. This is the third year that he has qualified for ISJA, but the first year he made the cut.
Savarie, also a WGA member, carded a 5-over-par 218 tournament total to take home runner-up honors.
This is the second consecutive year a WGA member has won the Illinois State Junior Am, as Ethan Farnam won the championship in 2015.
