The First Tee of Greater Chicago is offering a unique volunteer opportunity for WGA members this summer. The First Tee staff will train WGA members, who are 14 years and older, to become Junior Coaches this summer. The Junior Coach will help the other First Tee Coaches guide The First Tee participants through the Life Skills Experience curriculum.
The curriculum will include fitness, review of the Life Skill of the day, golf rules and etiquette, activity based games with continuous learning of the Life Skill and then “Good, Better, How” feedback session with the kids. Additionally, the four golf swings of putting, chipping, pitching and full-swing will be taught with a focus on a different fundamental.
It is a wonderful partnership that would allow WGA members to become role models for younger kids who are learning to play the game of golf.
A Junior Coach will also be enrolled as First Tee Participants at the PLAYer Advanced Level. This will allow the Junior Coaches access to all of the local and national opportunities (i.e.-PricewaterhouseCoopers Financial Literacy Summit, PwC Executive Forum in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL).
