WGA Expanding High School Programming to SMART Golf Facility in Chicago

The Wildcat Golf Academy, co-founded by Pat Goss, Director of Golf for the Northwestern men’s and women’s golf teams, and Jeff Mory, Director of Golf at Conway Farms, is expanding its first class golf instruction to the SMART Golf and Fitness facility in Lincoln Park, 1315 W Concord Place.

Dave Cunningham, the assistant golf coach at DePaul University, will be the lead instructor of the program that will include both golf instruction and fitness/strength training.

With three simulators, including 2 Trackmans, a large putting green and a full size weight room the Wildcat Golf Academy will be able to extend its world class training program to Chicago high schools.

  • The program will include:
-Full swing instruction using video and Trackman
-A golf fitness assessment to create a weekly training program for each kid
    -Putting development
    -Distance work with wedges
    -Weekly skills challenges

The program’s goals are to develop kids to be the best golfers they can be by developing proper technique in all areas of the game while keeping a focus on competitive practice to have a more effective carry over into their actual games.
