Wildcat Golf Academy members dominated the links this week at both the MAGT and IJGA Tournaments. Below is a wrap up from the week!
• Ethan Farnam, a rising Freshman from Crystal Lake, IL, advanced to the semi-finals of the 33rd Annual Chick Evans Jr Am Champ on July 26. Despite earning one of the final spots in the Boys Flight, Farnam defeated #3 Jason Mihevc; #19 Joe Egan; #11 Daniel Gorman before falling to #2 and eventual champion Orion Yamat.
Three other WGA members advanced to the Boys Match Play Bracket, Nick Iserloth (2016, Winnetka, IL); Mac Montagne (2015, Lake Forest, IL); and Jason Paek (2014, Glenview, IL). Paek upset #1 Patrick Murphy in the first round to advance to the group of 16.
• Joey Laughlin (2014, Lake Forest, IL) won the MAGT Kenosha Classic. With four birdies in the final round, Laughlin was able to post a great score on a day when scoring conditions were tough. His final round of 74 gave him a tournament score of 149.
Nicholas Iserloth (t3), Mac Montagne (t10) and Jacob Krugman (t10) also finished in the top 10 of the Kenosha Classic.
• Drew Buck (2019, Winnetka, IL) and Robbie Gapp (2018, Winnetka, IL) finished 2-3 at the IJGA YDP Event #5 @ Randall Oaks GC with scores of 79 and 81, respectively.
• Charlie Kulwin (2022, Chicago, IL) posted a nine-hole score of 36 in the Boys 8-9 Div to tie for second place at the IJGA YDP Event #7 at Cantigny Youth Links.
• Billy Boesen earned medalist honors at the IJGA Open #13, Boys 16-18 Division, at Mission Hills CC (73).
• Blake Bowen (2018, Kenilworth, IL) finished second at the IJGA YDP Event #8 at Glenview Prairie Club. Charlie Kulwin earned second place honors in the Boys 8-9 Division at the same event.
